Robert Finocchio, Chairman of the Board

Robert Finocchio has been a Dean’s Executive Professor of Management at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business since September 2000. He is currently a director at Broadcom Corporation, Echelon Corporation, JustAnswer.com and Silver-Peak. Prior to joining the board at Vistage, he served on nine public and eight private company boards.

From August 1997 to September 2000, Finocchio served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Informix Corporation, an information management software company. When he arrived at Informix, he faced multiple, complex challenges and was instrumental in the stabilization and return to growth and profitability of the $800 million company.

From 1988 to 1997, Finocchio was employed with 3Com Corporation, where he held various positions, and ultimately was named President, 3Com Systems. Prior to 3Com, he spent nine years at ROLM Corporation. He is Chair of the Board of Trustees at Santa Clara University and also served as a venture partner at Advanced Technology Ventures. He holds a B.S. in Economics from Santa Clara University and an M.B.A. (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School.


Peter J. Campbell

Peter J. Campbell is a Managing Partner at Education Growth Partners. He has over 20 years of experience successfully investing in, and helping drive the scaling of high-growth education, media and information services firms.

Campbell began his career by providing senior and subordinated debt financing for leading, high-growth media and information services firms at the Bank of New England. Afterwards,  he joined Burr, Egan, and Deleage, the trail-blazing growth equity firm focused on growth companies in the media and content services sectors. He then worked as a senior operating executive for several years before he was named a partner at Generation Partners, a $345 million growth equity firm where he focused on the education sector for more than 10 years.

In addition to his investing experience, Campbell has a passionate interest in social entrepreneurship.  For nine years, he served on the Board of Trustees of the Echoing Green Foundation, which has provided seed funding to over 500 social entrepreneurs.

Campbell holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.


Brian Nairn

Brian Nairn is the Operating Partner at Education Growth Partners, with an extensive background as an operating executive in the education and information services industries. He has successfully managed several growth businesses, with a particular expertise in managing technological change in content businesses, and driving the growth of smaller companies. Nairn was most recently the CEO of Elsevier Health, which he grew from $650 million to $1.6 billion in seven years. He also initiated and executed nine growth-oriented transactions during his tenure at Elsevier, each of which experienced double-digit revenue and EBITDA growth post-acquisition.

Before he joined Elsevier Health, Nairn spent more than 20 years serving some of the most recognized names in publishing senior leadership positions. He was President and COO of Cahners Business Information, an $800 million U.S.-based provider of magazines, data, and online services across widespread geographic locations and multiple, diverse vertical markets.

Born in Scotland, Brian Nairn was educated at St. Andrews University in the UK, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Iowa.


Travis Nelson

Travis Nelson is a Managing Director of TowerBrook Capital Partners. Prior to joining TowerBrook, he was a Managing Director and co-founder of Pacific Partners. Previously, he was an investment professional at Goldman Sachs, Oak Hill Capital Partners and Freeman Spogli & Co., and he served as a consultant to Rich Santulli, CEO of NetJets, a Berkshire Hathaway company.

Nelson earned his B.A. from DePauw University and received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Sam Reese

Sam Reese brings over 25 years of experience leading and advising senior leaders in complex organizations. As Chief Executive Officer of Miller Heiman, Inc., he implemented an effective international strategy and redesigned the business model to position the company as a brand leader in executive development. The independent distribution model he and his team built became a model for other companies to follow and contributed greatly to outstanding customer experiences and extremely high retention rates. Reese also previously held senior positions at Corporate Express (now owned by Staples), Kinko’s, Inc. and British Telecom.

In addition to his professional experience, Reese is also a Member of the Board of RO Innovation and on the Advisory Boards of Envysion and RoundPegg. He is the author of two published books on account management and an experienced keynote speaker. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado and has completed various executive programs at Stanford University and Northwestern University.


Ian Sacks

Ian Sacks is a Managing Director at TowerBrook. He focuses on healthcare and business services-related investments. He was previously a Management Partner with Soros Private Equity, and prior to joining Soros, he was Chairman and CEO of HelpCare. Sacks served as a Partner at MESA Partners and as a healthcare management consultant with APM. Mr. Sacks is currently a director of the OI Foundation, Pat Tillman Foundation and Uncommon Schools Collegiate Board of trustees. He earned a B.S. from Tufts University.
